Learning The Ropes On The Way To Becoming A Tattoo Artist

Being a tattoo apprentice when you’re almost 30 can feel discouraging.

There’s a lot of “Am I too old to start?” and “I’m never gonna reach my full potential like people that started earlier in life.”

These thoughts can start to hinder your success as a tattoo artist. I’d be lying if I say I didn’t think that way everyday, but then I look at my art.

I look at the millions of drawings, paintings, prints, pottery, etc. that l’ve created in the past fifteen years. I worked so hard, put my blood, sweat and tears into everything I’ve ever made. And then it clicks in my brain.

Tattooing is just another journey. And like every other medium, it takes time, patience and love to be successful. If you really want it and work hard you can have it. My advice to anyone who is interested in tattooing, is draw everyday. Experiment with different mediums and styles. Never give up and you’re never too old to follow your dreams.
